About me:

My name is Jon Gewirtzman (he/him) and I am a plant and ecosystem ecologist & biogeochemist. 

I am interested in how ecosystems influence and are influenced by the global cycles of carbon, nutrients, and greenhouse gases in our era of rapid environmental change. I am particularly fascinated by ecological interactions between plants, microbes, and their environments across scales from genes to ecosystems.

I am currently completing my PhD with the Raymond Lab and the Bradford Lab at the Yale School of the Environment, and the Peccia Lab at the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science.  

I am also a Research Fellow at Harvard Forest, and was recently an Adjunct Professor of Botany at Connecticut College.
